The VP of Engineering at Ozmo is a key executive-level position responsible for overseeing our engineering and IT functions. Reporting directly to the CEO and Co-founder, this individual will play a pivotal role in executing Ozmo’s technology vision and driving the delivery of innovative, high-quality solutions that fuel business growth.

As a member of Ozmo’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the VP of Engineering will operate as a strategic leader—contributing to company-wide planning and decision-making at the highest executive level. This role will align technology with business objectives, balance innovation with long-term technical sustainability, and foster a culture of growth, inclusivity, and high performance.

What you will do:

  • Provide visionary leadership across Engineering and IT, guiding innovation and executing Ozmo’s technical roadmap in alignment with the company’s broader strategic goals.
  • Collaborate at the executive level with SLT peers, contributing to enterprise-level strategy by aligning technical capabilities with long-term business objectives.
  • Work closely with the VP of Product to ensure that technology execution supports the product roadmap and business strategy, while introducing forward-looking solutions enabled by emerging technologies.
  • Influence product direction from a technical lens by identifying scalable, high-impact innovations that align with strategic priorities and customer needs.
  • Define and prioritize technology initiatives in collaboration with Product leadership, maintaining architectural integrity, platform health, and customer value delivery.
  • Oversee the architecture, deployment, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and software products, ensuring operational excellence and scalability.
  • Champion an agile development culture that supports responsiveness, adaptability, and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Manage engineering and IT projects, KPIs, budgets, and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between technical and financial performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in processes, security, and compliance, including SOC2 oversight, incident response, and risk management.
  • Provide leadership in data privacy, security reviews, contract oversight, and ensuring compliance with relevant technical standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and high performance across engineering and IT teams, developing talent and enabling success.
  • Represent Ozmo externally as a technical leader where appropriate—sharing the company’s technology vision with partners, investors, or other stakeholders in coordination with the CEO and SLT.
What you will bring to the role:
 
  • 15+ years of distinguished experience in software engineering, including more than five years in an executive-level role within a dynamic SaaS environment.
  • Extensive expertise in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and IT infrastructure—driving innovation, operational efficiency, and long-term platform sustainability.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring large teams across engineering, DevOps, and IT functions, nurturing their professional growth and development.
  • Strategic leader with a proven ability to inspire, align, and mobilize teams around a shared vision—delivering complex initiatives on time while fostering accountability, engagement, and a growth mindset.
  • A proven track record of leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI to effectively drive transformative business outcomes.
  • Adept at forging strong, collaborative partnerships with Product, Growth, and Executive teams—supporting alignment on strategic priorities, customer value delivery, and long-term market differentiation.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, skillfully balancing innovation with operational rigor to meet evolving business needs.
  • Metrics- and outcome-driven, with a strong command of performance indicators such as uptime, deployment velocity, transaction throughput, and customer-impact metrics to guide decision-making and team focus.
  • Advocacy for continuous improvement and innovation, dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive team culture that empowers individuals.
  • Exceptional communicator and executive presence, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, support investor conversations, and serve as a trusted voice on technology vision and execution within the executive team.

Pay Range: 260K+ base with bonus & equity 

This position is based in the United States and offers the opportunity to work from home.
